The University of Sunderland, United Kingdom, has nominated University of Ibadan (UI) Vice Chancellor, Professor Isaac Folorunso Adewole, as one of the few personalities across the world that will be honoured with the award of Doctorate of Science of the university.

This information was contained in a letter signed by its Interim Vice Chancellor and Chief Executive, Shirley Atkinson.

The letter explained that “each year the University of Sunderland confers honorary awards on a small number of distinguished people in recognition of outstanding academic achievement in a particular field.”

Prof. Adewole is a Medical Doctor and a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist at the University of Ibadan (UCH), Ibadan. He is also an adjunct Professor at Northwestern University, Chicago, Illinois, USA.

The award ceremony comes up today, July 8, at the Faculty of Applied Science of the university.
