Having won elections in states like Anambra, Abia, Imo, Bayelsa, Benue, Niger and the Federal Capital territory, the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has said that Lagos State is their next target.

Speaking at the Lagos chapter of the party’s recent unification and award ceremony in Lagos, the Deputy National Chairman, Uchenna Okogbuo, said that all hands must be on deck to make the party formidable in Lagos state.

According to him, the potential s of the party in Lagos State is massive.

However, he said that the main challenge that has been confronting the party in Lagos state is lack of integrity and commitment on the part of the leadership in the past.

Okogbuo said that rather than build the party, the former leadership had been trading with it.

The Deputy National Chairman said with the present leadership of the party under Chief ThankGod Ibeh, he is sure that the party’s time to start winning election in Lagos State has come.

He said that the national executive of the party would continue to support the Lagos state chapter in order to ensure that the dream becomes a reality.

His words: “Lagos is very important to us. Lagos is very vital to us. The reason why we have not been winning election in the state is that most of the state chairmen of the party in the past have betrayed their selfish interest. I also want to acknowledge that some of the past chairmen had done their best but their best was not good enough. But I am very optimistic that with the current leadership of the party in Lagos state, the table would turn and we will start winning election.”

In his contribution, the Lagos State Chairman of the party, Hon. ThankGod Ibeh, said that the purpose of the unification and award ceremony is to bring back all those who had left the party for one reason or another.

According to him, the potentials of the party in Lagos state are very high.

He said that all hands have to be on deck to achieve the desire of the party in Lagos State, which is winning elections.

Some of the dignitaries at the event included the former Chief Judge of Anambra State, Justice Umeadi, the General Overseer, Rhema Deliverance Mission, Prophet Anene Nwachukwu, the President of Mandilas International Trade Center (MITC), Lagos International Trade Fair Complex, Chief Tony Okeke, the Assistant National Organizing Secretary of the party, Steve Nwoga, among others.
