South East Governors under the umbrella of South East Governors Forum has appealed to the Federal Government to make a rethink in their recent plan of relocating Boko Haram prisoners to prisons in the region.
Speaking on behalf of the governors after the Forum’s meeting held at the Government House in Owerri, the Imo State capital, Imo State Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha, said all the five South East governors have resolved to put behind their party differences and work together for the interest of the Igbo nation.
The governors further reiterated their commitment to fight crime, especially kidnapping, cultism and armed robbery, which has been on the increase after the general elections.
Other matters discussed by the governors include the economic welfare of the Igbos, the welfare of displaced Igbo indigenes affected by Boko Haram insurgency and the position of the South East as regards Federal Government appointments.
