A PDP member of the House of Representatives, representing Ikpoba-Okha/Eghor Federal Constituency in Edo State, Honorable E.J. Agbonayinma, has called on the Federal Government of Nigeria to improve Police funding, Training, Equipment, and Logistics to enable the Police to discharge its duties more effectively.
Agbonayinma said this recently, during a courtesy visit to the Inspector General of Police Solomon Arase, at the Force Headquarters, Abuja, to congratulate him and offer his support.
“I believe policing should not be left to the police alone, I believe we all as Nigerians have a role to play in safeguarding our communities and our society at large.
“To curb the menace of crime, it will require us as a people to join hands with the Nigerian Police by providing correct information, or reporting any criminal or suspicious activities to the nearest police station or any law enforcement agency,” he said.
“I also call on the Nigerian Police Force to be more responsive, and show more accountability and commitment to the citizenry to build a peaceful and prosperous Nigeria,” he added.
