Dare-devil armed robbers this evening successfully raided the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Lagos, carting away huge sums of money in addition to killing some policemen.
An eyewitness, Mrs. Betty Abah, said the robbery took place at the Arrival Hall of the airport.
“Just escaped a hail of bullets at d MMIA Lag alongside my 2 siblings,” Abah, a Lagos-based author and social worker wrote on her Facebook wall.
“Three policemen killed. Others wounded. Sheer pandemonium. Airport police ran into hiding wt d rest of us,” she added.
Mrs. Abah,who is also an award-winning journalist, said that the robbers reportedly made away with “a large sum, in dollars and reportedly being ferried to Dubai as d money arrived d car park.”
