Africa’s dancehall king, Shatta Wale quits music, turns businessman 

Ghanaian music star, Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jr aka Shatta Wale

Top Ghanaian reggae-dancehall artiste, Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jr. who is known by his stage name Shatta Wale (formerly Bandana), has announced that he’ll be retiring after his upcoming project #GOGALBUM.

The 36 years old music star whose best-known song “Dancehall King”, led him to win the Artiste of the Year at the 2014 edition of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, says he has made enough fortune from music and now wants to go into business.

Hear the self-acclaimed African dancehall King: “This GOGAALBUM will be my retiring album. Made enough to go into new businesses and create employment for those who still follow the course.

“Time to raise another set of Ghanaian stars!” he announced on Thursday.
