Urhobo leaders yesterday expressed profound appreciation to Delta State House of Assembly members and the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for finding Hon. Monday Igbuya credible to be elected the Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly.

Spokesperson of Union of Urhobo People (UOUP), Dr. Joseph Oki, in a statement issued in Mosogar, Ethiope West Local Government, applauded the lawmakers and others for electing a proven leader as Speaker of the State House of Assembly.

The leaders also congratulated Hon Igbuya on his election as Speaker of the House.

Pledging to support Igbuya in his new assignment, the leaders declared “We are proud to be associated with you and shall provide all support you shall require for the success of your tenure as Speaker.

The leaders urged Igbuya to bring his extensive knowledge and understanding of law making to the service of the state.

“We trust that, like those waiting to see changes in the state, Hon Igbuya will demonstrate a commitment to moving the state forward,” they said.

The leaders also thanked the Delta State Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, Chief James Ibori, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, Senator Ighoyota Amori and other prominent politicians in the state for supporting Igbuya.

“We wish you God’s help in yet another phase of your continuing service to the good people of Delta State,” the statement added.
