Anambra APGA guber hopeful, Prof Soludo
By PAMELA EBOH, Awka
Former Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Prof Charles Chukwuma Soludo, has said that the battle to take over the leadership of Anambra State is not about him but about the future of the youths and the state.
Soludo, who spoke when a coalition of Soludo Support Groups organised a prayer summit to seek God’s intervention in his governorship ambition in Awka, explained that his aspiration to govern Anambra state was borne out of his desire to secure the future of the state and lift it to greater height
According to him, the purpose of the prayer summit was to thank God for the answered prayer, adding that what he saw on ground showed that God has approved the project.
He said: “I see God’s hands in this project and I have accepted to serve my people in Anambra state after serving the world and the nation. Please play your parts actively in the project as God has approved of it.
“The representative of various groups should intensify the mobilisation of their members and others to actualise this great dream.”
While promising to build on the foundation laid by the present administration of Chief Willie Obiano if he wins the governorship contest, Soludo, a chieftain of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) gave assurance that he will visit all the 345 wards and 21 local government areas in the state to identify with them.
The prayer summit group on their part, urged the APGA candidate hopeful not to succumb to antics of opposition parties and groups that may want to discourage him from contesting the November 6 gubernatorial election on the platform of APGA.
