Celebrated filmmaker, advertising and public relations consultant, Dr Chuma-Odili Harris Udoka, now has a new job.

Ogene Ndigbo, as he is fondly called, is now the Director General of Media/Publicity and Strategy for the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) Anambra 2021 governorship aspirant, Chief Akachukwu Nwankpo.

The governorship hopeful, who made the appointment on Wednesday in Awka, said he was bringing Dr. Chuma-Odili on board to fortify his campaign team.

Said he: “Dr Chuma is an outstanding personality, a professional media practitioner. A reliable partner and ally. I’m happy to have him as a member of my campaign team. He has agreed to partner with us for the actualization of my guber ambition. He understands the terrain, and will play a vital role as we journey together. I'm delighted to have him as my Director of Media and Publicity.”

At the event, Dr. Chuma-Odili said he accepted the appointment because the job was a call to serve, a call to help ndi Anambra choose the right man for the job.

According to him, “Nze Akachukwu Nwankpo is an astute political leader. He is a man of the people, a great philanthropist and God sent to ndi Anambra. He has the passion to serve and will make a good governor. His interest is anchored in making Anambra families more involved in the governance process of the state. He has lofty plans, profound ideas on how to improve the lots of ndi Anambra, a thoroughbred politician who knows how best to serve his people.”

Chuma-Odili, a culture exponent, has before now organised Anambra Media Excellence Awards, Anambra Independent Press Summit, Anambra Social media hangouts, and several other media practitioners’ conferences across Nigeria. He had worked as the General Secretary of Defence for Igbo Interest in Lagos. He was Founder, Igbo Film Festival and BOT Chairman, Association of Digital Media Core Advocates.

The Ogbunike Anambra State-born Chuma-Odili was a governorship aspirant under the All Progressives Congress (APC) before defecting to the APGA in 2017.

He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communication and Post Graduate Diploma in Communication Leadership at the IUSEBA University. He bagged a Doctorate Degree (Honoris Causa) in Leadership, Social Advocacy and Community Development from Green Hills University, Denmark.

Chuma-Odili is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Corporate Management and Strategic Planning. He is the Managing Director, Chief Executive Officer of Don Harry Global Leasing Limited, and his companies are into Marine Catering Services, Equipment Leasing, Hospitality Management, Haulaging, Fashion and Entertainment and allied products.
