Some Nigerians on social media have berated the Minister of Information, Lai Mohammed, for using the verified Twitter handle of the Federal Ministry of Information and Culture to discuss the controversies surrounding the ongoing membership registration of the All Progressives Congress.

The minister had used the officialTwitterhandle of the federal ministry to state his position on the party’s registration on Monday.

In a thread, the minister demanded that the party’s registration should be cancelled in Kwara State, where he hails from.

The PUNCHhad reported that there is a leadership crisis in Kwara APC, with Lai Mohammad leading one of the factions against the governor, Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq.

Reacting to the tweet, some Nigerians accused Lai Mohammed of ridiculing the country, asking that he should be punished by the President, Major General Mohammadu Buhari (retd.).

They lamented that the information on the federal ministry’s handle should represent what the country stands for.

“This is embarrassing. Lai Mohammed should be sacked immediately,” one of the Nigerians, @Abu Ayman posted. (Punch)
