President of Women Arise and Centre for Change, Dr. Joe Okei Odumakin, on Wednesday evening congratulated United States’ new President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris as they assumed office.

“Finally the American spirit has triumphed at last with a successful transition. The strong institutions have prevailed and the country is on the move again.

“The clouds have cleared. All doubts are dissolved. Joe Biden is now President of America.

“Biden, Harris and their team are the new sheriffs in town!

“Welcome and congratulations!” the famed rights activist wrote in a statement.

“We wish you a successful tenure,” she said, adding:

“All eyes are on you! Most hopes are pinned on you!

“The burdens you carry are heavy. And the responsibilities enormous.

“You must understand the urgent business of now and settle for real business without delay.

“May you succeed! And may you not let the world down!”
