Immediate past Minister of Information and Communications, Prof. Dora Akunyili, has won two important awards within a space of two days.
She was on Tuesday, February 26, in Lagos honoured with The First National Cultural Protector Award by FORAA, an international organisation founded by the famous Village Headmaster of The Village Headmaster TV drama series, Chief Femi Robinson. The impressive ceremony spiced with cultural displays took place at Ikeja Country Club and was witnessed by several dignitaries, including representatives of governors of the six South-West governors.
Yesterday afternoon, Akunyili received yet another honour when she won the first Award of Excellence instituted by the Nnamdi Azikiwe University Centre for Excellence in the Arts and Humanities, Awka.
Commenting on the awards on her Facebook page, the former minister known for her Rebranding Nigeria campaign said: “Two awards in two days! God, I have every reason to thank you! . . . It feels good to be honoured long after leaving public office. To God be the glory!”
