Former APC South-East Spokesman Hycienth Ngwu
By CHARLES IWUOHA
A former South-East Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Hycienth Ngwu, says Ebonyi State Governor, Engr. Dave Umahi, was attracted to APC due to President Muhammadu Buhari’s sterling infrastructure development in the country.
Ngwu told newsmen in Enugu on Wednesday that the governor’s decision to defection from PDP to APC was a home-coming.
“It is an excellent testimony that the APC-led Federal Government, being spear-headed by President Buhari, is doing well by providing massive infrastructure developments across the country especially in the South-East states.
“By this action, the governor has finally settled with birds of the same feathers.
“It is without doubt, that Gov. Umahi is one of the best performing governors in Nigeria today. And this move has joined him with his likes in good governance that are abound in APC,” he said.
The former APC zonal spokesman said that he had no doubt that other governors of the South-East would soon join Umahi in APC.
According to him, politically, the South Easterners have always had good working relationship with the Northerners.
“I believe this move will rekindle this old relationship and bring out the best that will help in making the 2023 general election an election that will unify and make all geopolitical zones happier in one Nigeria.
“I join millions of APC supporters in the South-East to welcome Gov. Umahi,” he said.
Ngwu said that Umahi had really proved his selfless love to the yearnings of the South-East by this defection.
“It beats my imagination to think that some of my people, still believe in PDP, that have shut the doors against our political desires in spite of having thrown all our political weight to them in the past 20 years,” he said.
