Davido tabling demands to IGP Mohammed Adamu in Abuja

The ongoing protest by the Nigerian youth asking for the scrapping of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) has now gone beyond boundaries.

In spite of the fact that the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu on Sunday yielded to the demand of the protesters by formally announcing that the police department which was notorious for wanton killings and maiming of innocent citizens had been disbanded, the protesters have continued.

They are demanding the prosecution of the erring operatives in the now defunct squad as well as the reformation of the entire police force.

The promise made by President Buhari on Monday to this effect seems not taken in by the protesters.

It is interesting to note that top players in the entertainment sub-sector are in the forefront of the protests taking place simultaneously in and outside the country.
