Governor Akeredolu
By CHARLES IWUOHA
The Ndigbo Unity Forum (NUF), a pan-Igbo socio-political organisation, on Tuesday drummed support for re-election of Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State for second term in office.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has fixed Ondo State governorship election to hold on Saturday, October10, 2020.
The President of the group, Mr. Augustine Chukwudum, told newsmen in Enugu that the endorsement was reached after NUF tour to the state and interaction with Igbos who reside in the state doing business.
According to Chukwudum, we discovered that the governor has been very friendly with our people and always attend to our people’s demands.
“We also discovered that the governor has performed very well in the area of infrastructure development in the past three years.
“Developments like good asphalted road, well-equipped hospitals, constructed and renovated over 1,000 classroom block for primary and secondary schools in the state as well as payment of workers salary and pension as when due.
“There is also the on-going seaport construction project to decongest Lagos ports and act as massive job creation and economic diversification for the state.
“Igbos, who are resident in the state, have also benefited from all these Gov. Akeredolu’s administration democratic dividends,” he said.
Chukwudum said that NUF had directed all Igbos with voter’s card to come out en- masse and cast they vote for Akerelodu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for another term.
“This is the only way Igbos can thank the man who has been playing the role of big father to them and other non-indigenous tribes living in the state for the past three years,” he added.
