Tuesday was wedding anniversary celebration of popular actress, film producer, television personality and media personality, Monalisa Chinda, to her husband, Victor Tonye Coker.

It was an exciting time for the 46 years old light-skinned actress born in Port Harcourt, Rivers State to Ikwerre parents.

On that day, the Theatre Arts graduate from the University of Port Harcourt had hinted on her Instagram page: “It’s our anniversary” along with a photo she posed with her hubby.

She got quite a number of good wishes from friends and fans, and the next day she expressed gratitude to the well wishers.

“This smile goes to the millions of people who wished us well yesterday... completely chuffed 💯 I totally heart you. God bless you for me. It’s going to be a beautiful day,” she wrote.

Of course, there was every reason for the eccentric actress to rejoice.

She was first married to Dejo Richards but the marriage crashed and the couple divorced in 2009 on grounds of domestic violence and abuse.

The ill-fated union produced one child, a daughter by name Tamar Chinda.

At that time, the multiple award-winning star had said: “I regret raising my child without a father. It’s a bit painful. But I have to live with it…”

After that bitter experience, Monalisa was involved in a couple of high profile relationships. But she believed marriage was a better option.

In 2016 she walked down the aisle with her second husband, Victor Tonye Coker, who she claims she knew since age of 14. She then revealed plans to have a child for Coker, a plan which is yet to come to fruition four years after.

But going by the smiles on the anniversary day, it would be safe to say that the marital journey so far has been a movement from life of abuses and violence (according to her), to a tolerating environment, given her alleged hard and domineering character.
