The National Working Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has upheld the position of the Zonal Working Committee led by Deacon Austin Umahi on the recognition of Hon.

Ndubuisi Nwobu as the legitimate PDP State Chairman of Anambra State.

The NWC of the party adopted the resolution in their meeting held at the PDP National Secretariat, Wadata Plaza, Abuja.

The NWC made this known in a letter addressed to the National Vice Chairman, PDP South-East, Deacon Austin Umahi, dated 12th August 2020.

The letter was signed by the National Secretary of PDP, Sen. Umaru Ibrahim Tsauri, read thus: the State Working Committee headed by Hon. Sir Ndubisi Nwobu is the duly elected and recognized Anambra State Working Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party.

The letter further stated: “You are by this NWC resolution directed to recognize and enter into party business with the Anambra State Chapter through the State working Committee as stated above.”

The resolution further authorised the South-East PDP leadership “to use all legal and official means to disband all parallel Executive body, as such is illegal, null and void.”

It will be recalled that the South-East Zonal Working Committee of PDP, ably led by Austin Umahi had in their emergency meeting of July 3rd 2020, recognised the Nwobu-led State Chapter as the legitimate, recognised and authentic PDP State Working Committee in Anambra State.
