In preparation ahead of the 2023 general elections, not less than 50 members of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ikwo Local Government Area of Ebonyi State have decamped to the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC).

This was disclosed by the Special Assistant to the member representing Ezza South/Ikwo Federal Constituency on media, Comrade Charles Iteshi, in a statement made available to News Express in Abakaliki.

Iteshi said the defectors made their declaration at the APC executive meeting held at the party office in the LGA.

He stated that the decampees said they regretted aligning themselves with PDP initially and asked God for forgiveness before the public.

The member representing Ezza South/Ikwo Federal Constituency, Comrade Chinedu Ogah, who addressed the constituents on his achievements so far, assured the defectors of total accommodation in the party.

“His attendance at the meeting witnessed mass defection of some PDP members from the wards in Ikwo Local government Area. They regretted aligning with the Umbrella initially and asked for God’s forgiveness before the public.”
