Governor Umahi
By CHARLES IWUOHA
Following the dissolution of all Executive Assistants, Senior Technical Assistants and Technical Assistants to Ebonyi State Governor, Engr David Umahi, the State Government has released new window for fresh applications by the former appointees.
The former aides to the State Governor were dissolved on August 1, following alleged dereliction of duties and lackluster performances of the dissolved EAs, STAs and TAs.
The State Governor had noted that new appointees would be resourceful and hard-working as parts of new measures to enhance economic recovery blueprint of the state government.
The affected appointees were directed to handover all government properties at their possessions to the Principal Secretary to the Governor, Chief Clement Nweke, on or before August 5.
Umahi maintained that new appointees would show evidence of farming or another means of livelihood.
In the statement issued by the Governor’s Principal Secretary, the application is limited to the dissolved appointees to the Governor.
The statement also directed heads of former establishments to confirm whether the appointees performed their duties satisfactorily or otherwise.
According to the statement, the applicants are to attest that “I certify that all answers here in are true and correct to the best of my knowledge.
“I hereby affirm that I should be relieved of my appointment in the event of my failing to live up to my responsibilities. In the event of my intention to resign my appointment, I will give six (6) months’ notice or pay six (6) months salary to Ebonyi State government in lieu of the notice.”
