El-Rufai lashes out at OBJ, Atiku, accuses them of lying

Controversial former Minister Nasir el-Rufai this afternoon once more bit the fingers that once fed him. Reaching for his Twitter handle hours after the launch of his memoirs entitled The Accidental Public Servant, el-Rufai lashed out at ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar for daring to disagree with his negative portrayal of them in the book.

The two elder statesmen made el-Rufai Director-General of the Bureau of Public Enterprises (BPE) and later Minister of Federal Capital Territory Abuja.

As if to pay them back with a counterfeit coin, the diminutive Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) chieftain mocked them in his memoirs, accusing Obasanjo of having desperately sought to illegally obtain a third term in office and Atiku of being Macbeth-like, cavorting with marabouts and plotting with them for Obasanjo’s so that he could be president. He also accused Atiku of interfering with his work as BPP DG and alleged that Obasanjo knelt before Atiku to seek his cooperation for a second as president in 2003.

Angered by the denial of the allegations by his former bosses, el-Rufai this afternoon branded them liars, saying in a retweet that “their reactions are confirming the truth of (his) book.” Here is his retweet of Lauretta Onochie (@Laurestar): “Why all the anger/threats from OBJ, Atiku and their hangers on over @elrufai’s new book? Their reactions are confirming the truth of d book.”

The presentation of el-Rufai’s book earlier today in Abuja, the Nigerian capital, was expectedly boycotted by Obasanjo and Atiku as well as their loyalists.

News Express reports that el-Rufai (shown in photo) has become increasingly controversial on account of his unguarded utterances, among them sharing a vile joke about Jesus Christ having sex.
