Preparations are in top gear for a massive protest in Uyo, capital of Akwa Ibom State, for the release of Odudu Ukpanah, who has been detained for the past seven months allegedly on the orders of Governor Godswill Akpabio.

“We shall send a clear message to the oppressor and his surrogates that the days of unchallenged impunities and dictatorship are over,” Inibehe Effiong, Coordinator of the â€ª#‎ReleaseOduduUkpanah Campaign, said last night.

Effiong has in the past few days been mobilising other Akwa Ibom youths for the protest and has vowed to see the campaign to a logical conlusion.

The youth activist disclosed that he in the company of some members of the â€ª#‎ReleaseOduduUkpanah Campaign were at the Ikot Ekpene Medium Prison yesterday to spend Christmas with Odudu Ukpanah.
