Jehovah’s Witnesses have listed four categories of people who will not inherit God’s Kingdom. The categories were identified in a symposium entitled ‘Who Will Not Inherit God’s Kingdom?’ delivered yesterday on day two of the first in a series of 2014 Annual Convention of Jehovah’s Witnesses being held at Ota, Ogun State.

The speakers analysed what the Bible says at 1 Corinthians 6:9-11: “What! Do YOU not know that unrighteous persons will not inherit God’s kingdom? Do not be misled. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men kept for unnatural purposes, nor men who lie with men, nor thieves, nor greedy persons, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit God’s kingdom. And yet that is what some of YOU were. But YOU have been washed clean, but YOU have been sanctified, but YOU have been declared righteous in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ and with the spirit of our God.”

Based on the above scripture, the four ordained ministers who participated in the symposium identified sexually immoral people, idolaters, greedy people and revilers as those who will not inherit God’s Kingdom.

On the reverse side, another set of four speakers who featured in the next symposium entitled ‘Who Will Not Inherit God’s Kingdom?’ identified them as follows: “Those who are ‘poor in heart’ (Luke 6:20; Matthew 5:3); Those who ‘become as young children’ (Matthew 18:2-4); Those ‘persecuted for righteousness’ sake” (Matthew 5:10); and those who help Christ’s brothers (Matthew 25:34).

A total of 4,188 people attended the session, with one of the highlights of the day being the baptism of 59 newly dedicated members comprising 21 male and 38 female.

The Convention, which has as theme, ‘Keep Seeking First God’s Kingdom!’, continues for the next 12 weeks at the Ota Assembly Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses. A total of 271 conventions will hold across 30 Nigerian cities each convention taking place from Friday to Sunday.
