A Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship aspirant in Lagos State, Mr. Tunde Gbadamosi, is now battling to extricate himself from the allegation of fraudulently obtaining N53,615,000 from one Chief Solomon Edojah for a fully furnished seven-bedroom detached house at Amen Estate, Lekki, Lagos.

According to a letter of petition to the Deputy Inspector-General of Police, Force Criminal Investigation, Abuja, by Festus Keyamo Chambers on behalf of Edojah, Gbadamosi’s action amounts to a case of criminal breach of trust.

The letter revealed that Gbadamosi and his wife, Mrs Shade Gbadamosi, both of Redbricks Home International Limited, Lekki, Lagos, had approached Edojah some time in November 2013 to purchase the said property for N93,000,000 to be paid on instalments within one year.

“It was agreed that fixtures of certain quality and specifications will be used in the interior and exterior finishing of the property as contained in the offer letter and subsequent counter offer. Based on this understanding, our client agreed to purchase the property for his daughter Miss Goodness Edojah and consequently commenced payment for the property with an initial deposit of N25,000,000 and has not defaulted on any of the instalments since then,” part of the letter read.

The letter indicated that after N53,615,000 was paid sometime in February 2014, it was discovered that the fixtures being installed were below the agreed specification.

“Our client immediately alerted Mrs Gbadamosi to the discrepancies and a meeting was sheduled. The meeting was held on the 20th July, 2014 and our client expressed his displeasure at the reduction in standard and it was agreed that the discrepancies will lead to a downward review of the cost price as certain items had to be excluded,” the letter said, adding that since then Mr and Mrs Gbadamosi have shut their doors on Edojah, even refusing to collect cheque for the next instalment which had been due since 31st July, 2014.

“These antics by Mr and Mrs Gbadamosi are geared towards fraudulently depriving our client of the peaceable enjoyment of the property he has laboured to pay for,” the letter added.

According to the court order, Justice W. Animahun of the High Court Lagos has granted the applicant (Miss Goodness Edojah) “an interim order of injunction restraining the Defendant (Redbricks Homes International Limited) from disposing off, alienating, transferring or selling the property known as No 3, Gbadamosi Close, Amen Estate, Eleko Beach Road, Lekki Peninsula, Lagos State pending the hearing of the Motion on Notice already filed in this suit.”
