Chairman of Join Jonathan Journey (JJJ) group, Chief Ben Obi, says no matter the odds, President Goodluck Jonathan would sweep the votes in Anambra State during the 2015 presidential election.

He made the assertion at the JJJ headquarters in Awka, following the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) grand unveiling ceremony of JJJ in the state capital over the weekend, calling on President Jonathan to contest next year’s presidential election.

Chief Obi, who is currently the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Willie Obiano on Inter-Party Affairs, bragged that with Governor Obiano and the National Chairman of APGA, Chief Victor Umeh, firmly in control of the party, no other presidential candidate would make any impact in Anambra State.

He explained that all the local government chairmen and councilors were being mobilised to carry out grassroots mobilisation for the President without jeopardising the chances of the party in the Senate, House of Representatives and House of Assembly elections, which will take place on the same date.

Chief Obi described Jonathan as a good brand to market for the 2015 elections because of the things he has done for the people of the South-East since he mounted the saddle.

He said: “Apart from appointing Igbos into sensitive positions, he has kept his promise of constructing the Second Niger Bride, rehabilitation of federal highways in the zone, upgrading of the Enugu Airport and making the Onitsha Seaport functional.”

Chief Obi disclosed that branches of JJJ would be inaugurated in all states of the federation and in the Diaspora. He said that the President’s political adviser, Prof. Rufa’i Alkali, who is coordinating the groups campaigning for Jonathan, was pleased with what he saw when he visited JJJ headquarters.
