The Rivers State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has advised the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state to look inwards for the cause of its problems instead of accusing it (APC) “of sponsoring a renegade faction of their collapsing PDP in Rivers State to set up a parallel state secretariat.”

Rivers APC Publicity Secretary Warisenibo Chris Finebone said: “Ordinarily, the APC would have dismissed this as one of the frivolous and wild accusations for which the confused PDP in Rivers State has become notorious for especially after being hit by multi-pronged and massive desertion by its rank and file due to factionalisation. But it is now necessary to begin to roll back the death-bed propaganda of a terminally-ill political party before the innocent world is drawn into unnecessary confusion which the PDP in Rivers State has now aiming at.”

Finebone in a statement issued this morning in the state capital, Port Harcourt, alleged that “the PDP leadership clique led by Felix Obuah, that has sold its soul to the Junior Minister of Education, Bar. Nyesom Wike, sowed the seed of discord in the PDP the day it sold the party’s 2015 governorship ticket to the Minister without considering the various other interests within its ranks. Obuah and his henchmen have sowed the wind and should now be ready to reap the whirlwind that follows without blaming the APC.”

Rivers APC declared that “the Rivers State PDP is increasingly becoming a victim of its own evil devices.”

According to the party, “There is no doubt that the PDP house in Rivers State is now a collapsing white sepulcher. That the roof will very soon drop down is only a matter of time. This dramatic development is entirely the making of the PDP leadership clique that thrives in deceit, betrayal and preferring to live in self denial. For once, we expect that the PDP members should recognise that the entire blame for this turn of events belongs to them as they are clearly self-inflicted. Blaming it on APC or any other innocent passer-by smacks of sheer lunacy.

“Our only connection to this is that we prayed for this day to come because nature ensures that betrayal begets betrayal, something that is the official stock-in-trade of the PDP in Rivers State. Definitely, we knew a day like this will come for the PDP; indeed, it is here!”

The statement advises Rivers people and other Nigerians “to ignore the antics of the PDP and continue to support APC and the performing Governor of Rivers State, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi.”
