Delta State Deputy Governor, Prof Amos Utuama (SAN), has called on sons and daughters of Ughievwen Kingdom in Ughelli South Local Government Area to always remain prayerful while thanking God for his goodness and mercies. He also charged them to always conduct themselves with decorum and dignity.

Utuama gave the charge today at the 2014 Ughievwen Prayer Day and Annual Thanksgiving Service which held at Otu-Jeremi. He said the people of Ughievwen have good reasons to thank God for all His benefits to them, which stem not only from the peace, progress and love the people have experienced over the years, but for the spirit to even seek Him annually.

“This year we have also come to thank Him and also to pray that when Godis distributing all available opportunities in the world, He should not forget to bless us. We are here to show gratitude to God so that He can bless us the more,” the deputy governor said.

He explained that besides offering intercessory prayers for Ughievwen people, the community has also offered prayers for the three tiers of government in the country. According to him, “once you are prayerful, live peacefully and with a heart that shows gratitude to God, every other thing will be added to you.”

The Ughievwen annual thanksgiving and prayer day, which was jointly organised the Okobaro of Ughievwen Kingdom, HRM Matthew E. Egbi, JP, Ughievwen Christian Ministers Forum and the Ughievwen Union, has as its theme “By His mercies, we are not consumed”.

Some of the dignitaries at the prayer session include the Patron of Ughievwen Union, Olorogun Sir P. B Djebah; Olorogun Sir E. D. O. Obofukoro; Justice J. E. Shakarho; Olorogun Tom O. Ovwere; Olorogun F. E. O. Alibor; the Otota of Uhurie Subclan, Olorogun Hon David Uhawha; the Otota of Owahwa Subclan; Olorogun Emmanuel Bikogha, the Secretary of Ughievwen Union, who represented the President General of the Union.

Others in attendance include 64 other traditional chiefs of Ughievwen Kingdom were also. Among the ministers of God present were Arch Bishop Goddowell Avwomakpa, JP, of Christ Missionaries Crusaders Church (CMCC), Bishop V E Arikoro, Bishop Solomon Gbakara, and Bishop Chris Okoh.
