A cross section of Nigerians has reacted with shock and belief to the news of the murder, last night, of advertising guru Sesan Ogunro.

Ogunro, who owned and ran the Lagos-based EMINENT Advertising, was an immense talent who wrote many great copies, including the immortal “MKO is our man-ooo”.

Leading the mourning is Senator Ojudu Babafemi, who has taken to social media to lament the needless waste of Sesan’s life. Below are some of the comments of Senator Ojudu and other shocked Nigerians:

Egbon Sesan manages an advertising company Eminent Communications in Lagos, a great political communicator. He worked on Abiola’s campaign, Tinubu, Fashola, Fayemi, Dele Belgore and my own as well. We collaborated effectively in most of these. Easy going, simple and full of humour, he was the quintessential Ekiti man. Ramrod straight, honest, a man of integrity. I am going to miss you Egbon. All of us your aburos will miss you. Egbon was shot in front of his church after the Xnas carol, in the presence of his wife, children and grand children...

Sunre o Egbon Sesan, my brother and mentor. I will miss your artistry, your humour, your good naturedness. Just tell him what you want to do and ideas will start coming out of his mouth in torrents. He has left for us his children who are as talented as he was. Sesan Jr is main producer of musical videos for topmost Nigerian musicians. So is Fade his daughter, my one-time columnist in PM News who is doing so well in radio in Lagos.
