A youth group, the Integrity Youth Alliance, has challenged rebel pastors feuding with Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) President, Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor, to “prove their integrity by accounting for the offerings and tithe” collected from their chrch members.

The Alliance in a statement issued yesterday in Abuja also challenged the pastors operating under the aegis of Global Peace Relief Initiative to swear that they have “not received a dime from the G7 Governors and Atiku Abubakar.”

The Alliance, in the statement jointly signed by the National President, Kelvin Adegbenga, and Secretary General, Oghene Christopher, berated the rebel pastors for dabbling into politics and for risisng against the leadership of Pastor Oritsejafor.

It supported Pastor Oritsejafor’s attempt to call the group led by Prophet Jones Erue to order over its effortts to reconcile the G-7 Governors with the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The Alliance agreed with Oritsejafor’s position that the G7 crisis is an internal crisis within the PDP, “so we wonder when the ‘Global Peace Relief Initiative’ became part of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in attempting to reconcile the G7 Governors! Why didn’t they start their so called ‘rescue mission’ with the authentic PDP under the Chairmanship of Alhaji Bamanga Tukur, in Wadata Plaza?”

Continuing, the statement said: “Prophet Erue cited the CAN President’s private jet and made mentioned that they are men of integrity, please can the so called Global Peace Relief Initiative prove their integrity by accounting for the offerings and tithe in their domain and can they come out to say they have not receive a dime from the G7 Governors and Atiku Abubakar, who hosted them on the 5th of November at the Musa Yar’Adua Center in Abuja?

“Are the following people registered members of the PDP? Jones Erue, Bishops like: Julius Ediwe, Bob Manuel, Abhulemen Josiah, Konel Offiong, Innocent Chiedozie, Alex Okubo, Felix Ezebunwo, Charles Okoh , Peter Abingon and Archbishop Eddy Ogbonda? The question came up due to their statement: ‘We are disappointed that a leader could sit and watch his two children fight while the rest of us suffer only to come and blackmail those who take their time to seek solutions to the crisis.’ The country is not confined, so we wonder what ‘rescue mission’ you are embarking on! We strongly believe you are all embarking on a mission to enriching yourselves from the crumbles of the G7 Governors including Atiku Abubakar.

“The so called ‘eminent clerics and their affiliate, Global Peace and Relief Initiative’ claimed they have taken on a laudable project of consulting across all interest groups and stakeholders concerning the Nigerian project, please name and show us the interest group you have consulted as you widely publicised that of the G7 and Atiku Abubakar? If you claim that Nigeria is the only country you can call your own and cannot fold your hands and watch intolerance and impunity destroy the nation, what efforts did you make during the Niger Delta crisis of kidnapping and bunkering? What empowerment programme have you put in place to ensure the youths, especially your congregation, are empowered?

“We are urging Nigerians, especially Christians to be careful with some groups that use Christianity to commit atrocities and fraudulent activities such as the so-called Niger Delta Bishops and Christian Forum!

“The Youth of Nigeria will not fold her arm while some frustrated Christian Forum causes disunity in Nigeria. Allow PDP to handle her internal crisis peaceful and stop using Christianity to exploits the G7 Governors and their associates.”
