Mike, who boxes under the ring name Edwards, issued the challenge in a post on Monday, tagging Carter Efe directly.

He wrote, “@carterefe, stop the cap. Now you’re saying you want to fight ‘Real Men’ and ‘real fighters’… I’ve been right here the whole time.”

“Before your first fight, I told you: go handle business, get the W, then me and you make the SUPER FIGHT. I kept the receipts. Fast forward — you’ve had 3 fights, I’ve had 1. So what’s the excuse now? Quit fighting these bums and accept the real challenge.”

“But give the people value for their money. You don’t fight enough now. I’ve spoken to Dr. @eazy_adamu @balmoralpromotions. Let’s get this signed, sealed & delivered. I’ll handle my business on November 7th in Dubai… then let’s give Nigeria the fight they actually want. MACHINE MIKE vs CARTER EFE. You say you want a real fighter? I’m not hard to find. Quit ducking me.”

Carter Efe, whose real name is Oderhohwo Joseph Efe, has become the face of Nigeria’s Chaos in the Ring celebrity boxing series, promoted by Balmoral Promotions.

His run started on May 1, 2026, at Balmoral Hall, Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos, where he faced controversial singer Habeeb ‘Portable’ Badmus.

Efe won the three-round bout by unanimous decision, with all three judges scoring it 30-27 in his favour, to win the celebrity title and a reported N50 million prize.

His second outing came on October 1, 2026, at the Independence Day edition of Chaos in the Ring, also at Federal Palace Hotel.

He defeated rapper Speed Darlington in a four-round bout.

After that win, Carter Efe called for international opponents, mentioning American rapper DDG and boxing legend

Mike Edwards is not a typical celebrity boxer. The BBNaija 2019 runner-up is a two-time Nigerian high jump champion with a personal best of 2.25m, who switched allegiance from Great Britain to Nigeria in 2018.

He announced his entry into professional boxing in April 2024, joining the Cruiserweight division of Misfits Boxing, the promotion run by KSI.

He made his professional debut on August 31, 2024, at the Dublin Arena, defeating actor and former Love Island contestant Jake Cornish by unanimous decision after five rounds. Misfits Boxing described it as an ‘impressive MFB debut’ (The Nation)
