The Ahava Business Conference 2026 brought together leading African entrepreneurs, investors and business executives in the United Kingdom on Saturday, October 3, 2026, for an engaging conversation on entrepreneurship, wealth creation, business sustainability and the strategies required to build successful enterprises that can thrive across generations.

The conference, hosted by Barrister Ebele Iyiegbu, wife of renowned businessman and Chairman of Cubana Group, Chief (Dr.) Obinna Iyiegbu, popularly known as Obi Cubana, featured prominent business personalities, including Ned Okonkwo, Grace Ofure and other accomplished entrepreneurs, who shared insights into the realities of building businesses, navigating economic uncertainties and creating sustainable wealth.

Conceived as a platform for knowledge sharing, business networking and entrepreneurial empowerment, the Ahava Business Conference reflects Barr. Iyiegbu’s vision of creating an environment where aspiring and established entrepreneurs can access practical knowledge, meaningful connections and opportunities that will help their businesses prosper.

Speaking on the vision behind the initiative, the host emphasised the importance of moving beyond conversations about financial success to building a community of entrepreneurs equipped with the right mindset, relationships and strategies to create lasting economic value.

For Barr. Iyiegbu, the conference represents a commitment to encouraging entrepreneurship, promoting financial independence and inspiring individuals, particularly Africans within the diaspora, to recognise the possibilities available through enterprise development and strategic partnerships.

A major highlight of the conference was the Founders’ Chat featuring Obi Cubana, whose entrepreneurial journey across hospitality, entertainment, real estate, beverages and manufacturing provided valuable perspectives on business diversification, resilience, leadership and institution building.

Drawing from his experience of building the Cubana Group, Iyiegbu explored the importance of developing businesses around people, opportunities and sustainable value rather than merely pursuing expansion for its own sake.

His entrepreneurial journey, which began with early investments in hospitality before expanding into other sectors, provided an important context for understanding how business setbacks can become opportunities for reinvention and growth.

He stressed that successful diversification should not simply involve acquiring businesses across different industries but creating interconnected enterprises capable of reinforcing one another, generating employment and opening additional economic opportunities.

The Cubana Group Chairman also highlighted the importance of building strong organisational structures, financial discipline, capable management teams and operational systems that allow businesses to function effectively beyond the daily involvement of their founders.

Addressing the challenges entrepreneurs encounter when scaling their businesses, Iyiegbu identified premature expansion, inadequate structures and excessive dependence on founders as critical issues capable of undermining otherwise promising enterprises.

He encouraged emerging entrepreneurs to develop their individual strengths rather than attempt to replicate the visible success of established business personalities, noting that enduring business achievements are often the product of years of learning, discipline, relationships, setbacks and continuous reinvention.

His message reinforced the conference’s central theme that sustainable wealth creation requires more than access to capital. It demands vision, adaptability, integrity, sound business systems and the ability to create value for others.

The participation of Ned Okonkwo, Grace Ofure and other business leaders further underscored the significance of the gathering as a platform for connecting entrepreneurial experience with the aspirations of a new generation of business owners.

Beyond the individual success stories, the conference brought attention to the broader question of how African entrepreneurs can build competitive enterprises, strengthen business networks across international markets and develop institutions capable of creating long-term economic opportunities.

The discussions also reflected the growing importance of platforms that connect African business leaders at home and in the diaspora, particularly at a time when entrepreneurship, investment partnerships and innovation are increasingly central to economic advancement.

For participants, the Ahava Business Conference offered an opportunity to engage with established entrepreneurs, draw lessons from their experiences and rethink conventional perceptions of wealth, business success and personal achievement.

The event equally reinforced the philosophy that prosperity becomes more meaningful when it extends beyond individual accomplishments to creating employment, empowering others and developing businesses that can survive successive generations.

Through the Ahava initiative, Barr. Ebele Iyiegbu seeks to deepen conversations around enterprise development while building a network of ambitious entrepreneurs committed to transforming ideas into profitable and sustainable businesses.

The 2026 conference ultimately delivered a compelling message: building wealth is important, but creating institutions, developing people and establishing businesses that continue to generate opportunities long after their founders have stepped aside is the true measure of entrepreneurial success.
