Troops of the Nigerian Army, in collaboration with the Nigeria Police and local vigilantes, have arrested a suspected kidnapper during a coordinated operation in Esan West Local Government Area of Edo State.

Security sources said the operation was carried out at about 5:00 a.m. on July 10 following credible intelligence on the activities of suspected kidnappers in the area.

According to the sources, troops of the 322 Artillery Regiment, deployed at Ekpoma, teamed up with police operatives and vigilante members to conduct an offensive operation in Ira Forest and the Uraude general area.

The operation resulted in the arrest of one suspected kidnapper.

The suspect was subsequently handed over to the Nigeria Police, Ekpoma Division, for further investigation and possible prosecution.

The arrest is part of ongoing joint security efforts to tackle kidnapping and other violent crimes across Edo State. (Zagazola, excluding headline)
