The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) has appealed to the public to provide information on alleged child s3xual abuse and misconduct in Nigerian daycare centres.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, the agency vowed to thoroughly investigate concerns raised in recent public discussions and viral social media posts.

“Following recent public discussions and concerns raised regarding alleged incidents of child sexual abuse/misconduct in daycare settings in Nigeria, we are committed to thoroughly investigating credible reports,” the agency stated.

The agency urged individuals with information, evidence, or personal experiences to contact them confidentially via direct message or email.

“We kindly request anyone with factual information, evidence, direct knowledge, or who was personally affected by the matters referenced in the viral posts or related experiences to kindly reach out to us confidentially via DM or email us at info@naptip.gov.ng,” it added.

NAPTIP’s call comes amid widespread social media discussions about alleged incidents in daycare settings, stressing the need to protect children from exploitation. (The Nation)
