Katsina State Governor, Dr. Dikko Radda, has announced plans by his administration to recruit 2,000 medical personnel to strengthen healthcare delivery across the state.

The governor disclosed this on Wednesday while overseeing a verification exercise conducted by a committee set up to carry out a comprehensive staff audit at the Government House in Katsina.

Radda explained that the planned recruitment is in addition to the 1,000 medical personnel earlier employed by the state government, who are expected to receive their employment letters and resume duties shortly.

According to him, the recruitment drive is part of his administration’s commitment to improving healthcare services and addressing manpower shortages in hospitals and primary healthcare centres across the state.

In the education sector, the governor also revealed plans to recruit about 2,000 teachers to fill vacancies created by retirements and improve learning outcomes in public schools.

He said the teachers’ recruitment exercise is aimed at closing manpower gaps in the education sector and ensuring that every child in Katsina State has access to quality education.

Radda noted that the recruitment initiatives align with his administration’s broader agenda of enhancing public service delivery while creating employment opportunities for youths and qualified professionals.

He added that adequately staffed health and education sectors are critical to the overall development of the state.

Findings indicate that the recruitment exercises are expected to commence in the coming weeks after the ongoing verification process is concluded. (Guardian)
