All roads will on January 15, 2026 lead to Uga, in Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State with about 3,000 Christian clerics from across Anambra State gathering for a covenant renewal gathering.

The event which is being organised by clerics operating under the umbrella of the Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) in collaboration with the Biafra Independence Movement (BIM) is expected to have participants like, bishops, prophets, prophetesses, pastors, deacons, deaconesses, and other men and women of God representing various Christian denominations.

Speaking to journalists in Nnewi on Tuesday, the Anambra South Senatorial Zone leader of the group, Apostle Chukwuemeka Akunne said the covenant renewal meeting was being organised to express gratitude to God for answered prayers, divine mercy, and spiritual guidance.

According to him, the event has been made an annual tradition as a way of thanking God for what he described as significant and defining moments in their collective spiritual journey.

Akunne said, “We are at the brink of crossing over. God has answered our prayers, and it is only right that we return all the glory to Him.

"The gathering would serve as a period of thanksgiving, deep spiritual reflection, and renewed commitment to God, as we believe that we are entering a new phase characterised by divine intervention and the fulfilment of long-standing prayers."

On his part, the Director of Ihiala Legion and current Administrator of Area 3, Apostle Cyril Ohanebo said that the programme would be dedicated to communion with God, prayers, and thanksgiving for the future.

He explained that the clerics would use the occasion to appreciate God and celebrate what he described as divinely ordained better days ahead.

Ohanebo added, "God has appointed a time to liberate his people, just as he delivered the Israelites. This gathering is meant to acknowledge Him and prepare ourselves spiritually for what lies ahead."

The organisers however expressed confidence that the event would be peaceful, orderly, and spiritually uplifting even as w1it urged participants to maintain unity, discipline, and a spirit of brotherhood throughout the programme.
