Nollywood enjoyed a remarkable year at the box office in 2025, with audiences turning out in large numbers for stories that cut across comedy, drama, romance and epic genres.

According to figures released by FilmOne Entertainment and reported by the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the following films emerged as the highest-grossing Nigerian productions of the year:

1. Behind The Scenes – ₦1.32 Billion

Produced by Funke Akindele, this Nollywood drama emerged as the highest-grossing Nigerian film of 2025. The film’s compelling storyline and strong performances resonated widely with audiences, setting a new commercial benchmark for the year.

2. Gingerr – ₦522 Million

A comedy-drama that enjoyed massive nationwide appeal, Gingerr secured the second position. Its humour and relatable themes drove impressive cinema attendance across the country.

3. Oversabi Aunty – ₦480 Million

This family-friendly comedy struck a chord with cinema-goers, earning the third spot. Its blend of humour and everyday family dynamics contributed to its strong box-office showing.

4. Ori: The Rebirth – ₦419 Million

An epic fantasy drama, Ori: The Rebirth captivated audiences with its rich storytelling and cultural depth, placing fourth among the year’s top earners.

5. Reel Love – ₦356 Million

This romantic drama explored modern relationships and contemporary love themes, earning widespread appeal and securing the fifth position.

6. Iyálọ́dé – ₦306 Million

A historical epic rooted in tradition and power dynamics, Iyálọ́dé ranked sixth, reflecting audiences’ continued interest in culturally rich narratives.

7. Labake Olododo – ₦264 Million

Inspired by Yoruba folklore, this period drama claimed the seventh spot, blending history, culture and strong character portrayals.

8. Owambe Thieves – ₦205 Million

A comedy-fantasy film with a unique take on social events and crime, Owambe Thieves delighted audiences and finished eighth on the list.

9. The Herd – ₦193 Million

This socially conscious drama highlighted themes of conflict, survival and coexistence, earning critical attention and placing ninth in ticket sales.

10. Abanisetẹ: The Ancestor – ₦164 Million
