Defending champions Côte d’Ivoire and seven-time winners Egypt headline a formidable last eight with Senegal, Cameroon, Nigeria, Algeria, Mali, and hosts Morocco joining in.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the teams progressed after an absorbing Round of 16 concluded on Tuesday night, continuing the tradition of thrilling contests at Africa’s flagship football event.

Nigeria impressed with a commanding victory over Mozambique, Victor Osimhen scoring twice to showcase the Super Eagles’ attacking strength.

Algeria needed extra time to overcome DR Congo, substitute Adil Boulbina striking late to seal qualification.
