New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), Kano State chapter, has been thrown into fresh internal turmoil following the sack and expulsion of its State Chairman, Hashimu Dungurawa, by party executives in Gargari Ward, Dawakin Tofa Local Government Area.

Dungurawa’s removal comes barely two weeks after his re-election, heightening tensions within the party’s state structure.

According to a resolution signed by 27 ward executive members, the decision was taken during the ward’s second executive meeting held under the leadership of the Ward Chairman, Shuaibu Hassan, with the Secretary, Yahaya Saidu Dungurawa, in attendance.

The ward executives accused Dungurawa of creating divisions within the party, instigating internal crises, failing to pay party dues, and making abusive remarks against Kano Governor.

They described the alleged conduct as unacceptable and detrimental to the unity, image, and progress of the NNPP.

The resolution stated that the action was taken in strict compliance with the party’s constitution, stressing the need to uphold discipline, unity, and internal cohesion within the party.

The Gargari Ward leadership disclosed that copies of the resolution had been forwarded to the party’s Local Government, State, and National headquarters for necessary action.

The document was also reportedly served on the NNPP national leader, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, and the Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, for their information and further directives.

The ward executives said the sack was intended to serve as a deterrent to party officials who misuse their positions or consider themselves above party rules and discipline.

They further reaffirmed their loyalty to the NNPP national leadership under Senator Kwankwaso and pledged continued support for Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, stressing their commitment to peace, unity, and the overall advancement of the party at all levels. (TRIBUNE)
