The Anambra State Police Command on Tuesday advised individuals and organizations planning to distribute palliatives during the Yuletide season to formally notify relevant security agencies ahead of time.

The Command in a statement by the state Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, said that the proactive measure is aimed at enabling adequate security planning and deployment so as to ensure orderliness at distribution points, safeguarding lives and property, as well as managing crowd control, and preventing potential security breaches or other untoward incidents that may arise during such activities.

According to him, early notification would allow security agencies to provide necessary support, including traffic control, intelligence monitoring, and rapid response in case of emergencies, thereby guaranteeing the safety of both organizers and beneficiaries.

The Command further called for the cooperation and understanding of all stakeholders to help maintain peace, law, and order, and to ensure a safe and secure Yuletide celebration across Anambra State.

It added: “For ease of coordination and adherence to established protocols, attached are the phone numbers of the respective Area Commanders and Divisional Police Officers, who are available to provide necessary guidance and assistance."
