Many residents of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), have berated the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) over the epileptic power supply presently being experienced.

The residents, who reside in Kubwa, Kuje and Dutse spoke to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja on Sunday.

According to them, they do not get power supply for more than five hours a day.

They urged AEDC to improve their on their infrastructure to meet up with their customers demands.

Mrs Eniola Williams, a civil servant residing in Phase 2, Kubwa said that the epileptic power supply being experienced in her area was frustrating.

Williams said that in the last three months, they had not have power supply for more than three hours a day.

?It will be better if they supply power one day on, and one day off rather than what we are currently experiencing.

?The AEDC should improve on their infrastructure so that we get value for our money, ?she said.

Mrs Oluchi Emeka, also residing in Kubwa, said that the inability of the AEDC to meet the demand of electricity users was frustrating.

Emeka said that many small businesses had collapsed as a result of the poor supply of electricity to the area.

?Our businesses have collapsed because we have unstable power supply in parts of Kubwa as we do not get power supply for five hours a day,? she said.

Mr Emmanuel Ogar, an engineer residing in Kuje said that power supply in his area was epileptic and this was affecting their daily activities.

Ogar said that because of the poor supply of electricity, they could not stock their refrigerator with food items as they might go bad.

He appealed to AEDC to take measures to improve power supply in that area as they were really suffering.

Mr Emmanuel Ogbomo, a welder residing in Kuje also said that the unstable power supply had affected his business as he was no longer getting customers anymore.

According to him, we do not get power supply four hours in a day and some days complete blackout.

?This has affected my business as I can no longer meet up with my customers? demands and I am losing money every day.

?The AEDC should find a way of improving their infrastructure to ensure power supply is stable and constant,? he said.

Mrs Dorcas Edet, a fashion designer residing in Dutse said that she had to wake up at night to sew because most times there will not be electricity during the day but at night. (NAN)
