The Deputy Governor of Anambra State, Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim, has expressed joy at the peaceful environment experienced in the state so far as the governorship election is going on and the security operatives for enduring that

Ibezim who spoke to journalists after casting hus vote at Mbaukwu Central School said that though it is yet early to give an overall appraisal, described the process as orderly and impressive.

The Deputy Governor expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the exercise, saying that it reflected the growing maturity of the state?s democratic culture.

He cited the impressive turnout of voters as a result of the massive mobilization efforts initiated his principal, Governor Chukwuma Soludo prior to the election

.He said, ?The turnout is impressive, at least within this area, and it is largely due to the intensive mobilization of voters by our Governor to curb voter apathy, which has been a major challenge in past elections,? he said.

"I applaud the early commencement of voting. It is a positive sign of improved electoral efficiency and a step forward for the state?s democratic process."

The Deputy Governor expressed optimism that Soludo?s achievements and popularity across Anambra State would guarantee a landslide victory.

He added, ?One thing is certain: we are voting for the security of our future. Everyone here wants to ensure that the right person emerges as Governor of Anambra State,? he declared.?Forget that I belong to APGA; I believe in speaking the truth. Soludo has no rival in this election. He has performed creditably, and the people love him. We are voting for the security and progress of Anambra State."

Meanwhile, the immediate past National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Ozo Victor Oye, has also commended the security arrangements and voter turnout in the ongoing Anambra State governorship election.

Speaking at Ebeakpu Square II, Amawbia, in Awka South Local Government Area where he cast his vote, Oye said, "The security situation is impressive and the voter turnout is a strong demonstration of citizens? enthusiasm and confidence in the democratic process.

"Accreditation and voting began promptly at 8:40 a.m. across the three polling units at the square?003, 004, and 012. I'm satisfied with the early commencement of the exercise. It is a sign of improved electoral efficiency.

"The security arrangement is commendable. Security personnel are everywhere, and everywhere is calm,? he added.

"The smooth conduct of the election reflected the people?s growing confidence in the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the state government?s commitment to sustaining peace and credible governance."

On the issue of the re-election prospects of the incumbent governor, Soludo, Oye stated, "Soludo?s achievements and popularity across the state would ensure a landslide victory.

The firmer APGA National Chairman added, ?One thing is certain,we are voting for the security of our future. Everyone here wants to ensure that the right person emerges as governor of Anambra State,? ?Forget that I belong to APGA; I believe in speaking the truth. Soludo has no rival in this election. He has performed creditably, and the people love him. We are voting for the security and progress of Anambra State.

"I must commend the professionalism of security operatives deployed across the state. Their visible presence had contributed to a peaceful and orderly atmosphere at the polling centers."

Meanwhile, the security operatives at the polling unit were seen maintaining order and assisting voters.
