The All Progressives Congress (APC) this morning hit back at the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) by insinuating that it is a Christian party. The awaiting-registration mega party which has been smarting from allegations that it is a Muslim party yesterday published a list of Christians who are members of its national executive. Early this morning, APC followed up with a list to prove that Christians are in firm control of PDP.

News Express, however, observed that the list is outdated as it contains the names of people such as Olagunsoye Oyinlola Olisa Metuh who have since ceased to be part of the PDP leadership. Below is the publication as made on APC’s Facebook wall:

“Ethno-religious and sentimentalist (sic) who always attach and give everything a religion (sic) colouration and connotation were unjustifiably attacking APC as Muslim/Northerners party. Should PDP now be called Christians party? Shameless people, their mouths only
know what to say not knowing what may be the reply.

“Those that say that APC is a muslim party and that are citing and passing around a long list of newly-appointed Muslim interim officers as evidence of this are either being mischevous or are just plain ignorant.

“The APC has 37 interim national officers on its interim National Executive Comittee. 18 of those officers are Muslims and 17 are Christian.

“Those that are publishing and spreading the all Muslim list in the media and the social websites and networks should be advised to go and publish the full list of ALL the national officers of the APC and not just the list of Muslim ones. This is merely a PDP ploy to sell a lie to the public and attempt to clothe it as truth and it shall not stand. The truth is that there are many more religious and ethnic bigots in the PDP and much more ignorance than there is in any other party in Nigeria.

“This is nothing but PDP propaganda to destroy Nigeria not to have the change the people craved for.”
