The retirees in other countries are not treated like animals why is our leaders so cruelty. Even in US, a dog was recently retired with all the benefits like others.

It's shameful that our leaders past could not develop their last home, they kept dying in foreign land that enslaved their forefathers.

All those against Dangote's efforts to bringing the price of fuel pump down should relax their nerves for the sake of the ordinary citizens.

When will fuel pump price be reduced in other major cities in Nigeria? The government should find away to monitor all filling stations for compliance even with deregulation/or removal of fuel subsidy. The pump price is not commensurate with pump adjustments in most of the filling stations across the nation. It's proper for the government, to put in place, a monitoring taskforce, to ascertain the correctness of pulp adjustments. It's true, that fuel consumers are being cheated at the pulp adjustments.

Gen. Buhari was a great and successful Nigerian, he was not corrupt and tried the much he could to uplift the lives of ordinary Nigerians. His only dent was tribalism and nepotism, yes, his loyalty was first and foremost to his tribe and religion before the nation. Goodbye the incorruptible General and mad may God grant your family the fortitude to bear your irreparable loss, my deepest condolences to them in Jesus name, amen.

Power grabbing is our major challenge in this part of the world! Images an old man lying because of political powers. The question is ? why telling us the true which may not even be the truth now. How does the cover up help the country rather those of you close to the power who use the opportunity to steal from the government? It's so pathetic

The Executive Secretary,
OGUN State Primary Health Care Development Board,
Oke- Mosan, Abeokuta, OGUN State.
Dear sir,
Immunization Plus Malaria Process by Acceleration Coverage and Transforming (IMPACT) Project.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I write to bring to your notice the untold hardship and serious deprivation not to mention economic hazard being faced daily by the ad-hoc staff in the post of Community Health Extension Workers (CHEW) appointed by OGUN STATE Primary Health Care Development Board under the World Bank funded IMPACT Project.
These hapless youths were given letters of employment dated 4th March, 2025 with a stipend of #52,000:00 monthly salary and were posted to various government Health Centers/ Hospitals in the State.
It is noteworthy that almost five months after the assumption of duty, these health workers have not been paid the meagre salary there by causing them serious deprivation and financial hardship which has made life hellish for the majority of them.
It is instructive to know that many of them resigned from various private hospitals where they were gainfully employed believing that working for the State Government offers a better prospect and career development than remaining in private hospitals. These young Nigerians were excited at the prospect of working with the State Government and therefore left their comfort zones with the attendant expenses associated with relocating to their various stations to assume duty.
Sadly however, it became a sad commentary several weeks after assuming duty when they were informed that the monthly stipend would be #52,000:00 monthly in a country where the minimum wage is fixed at #70,000:00. But that is not even the focus of this mail.
Even as meagre as the monthly stipend is, it is dehumanizing that almost 5 months after assuming duty, these health workers have not been paid thereby subjecting them to serious financial hardship and agony so much so that majority of them are not able to feed not to mention afford transport fare to their various stations where they are duty bound to report daily.
The cost of living in Nigeria is at all time high. This is an open secret. Many of these workers spend close to between #1,000:00 and #2,000:00 daily on transport fare to and from their various stations. The cost of that alone has eroded the monthly stipend of #52,000:00. Then there's the cost of feeding and other sundry expenses.
There is no one to push the case of these hapless struggling Nigerian youths. Some of them have been forced to borrow from neighbors just to eat and to come to work. Some others (particularly the females) have to do other unsavory things to keep body and soul together.
This letter is an appeal to the conscience of whoever is in the position to without further delay approve the payment of these health workers salary from assumption of duty till date. To continue to deny them of their pay while expecting them to report for duty daily in this harsh economic environment is not only inhumane but outrightly wicked.
I trust that this mail from a concerned citizen will elicit the necessary action from a God fearing government official.
Please have the assurance of my best regards.
Thanks and God bless.
