To set the record straight, there is difference between Elders Council and Founding Fathers. Elders are not people with grey hair and old in age. Elders are people who can assist to bring reliable ideas and make unbiased suggestions to their society, organization or government so as to enhance effectiveness, efficiency and productivity towards a set goal or agenda. While founding fathers connotes people who by privilege were part of the struggle for the creation of the State. But how does being a founding father give someone opportunity to cause havoc in the system that is running hitch free and self sustaining. What if the State remain undeveloped the way it has been before the creation of the State which was what it was before the coming of His Excellency Engr Dr Dr David Umahi. Are the founding fathers denying the infrastructural revolution in the State as championed by the Governor?. Regrettably, the founding fathers have had one of their own as the Executive Governor of Ebonyi State and no doubt, he did well but how does it sound that founding fathers are causing division among the children. Are there saying that Anyim Pius Anyim has been of any help to Ebonyi State more than His Excellency the Executive Governor of Ebonyi State Engr Dr David Nweze Umahi?. The difference between the two is clear. The positions that Anyim Pius Anyim has occupied is enough for him to change the narrative of Ebonyi people before now. But what did he do with them?. Fighting his fellow leaders. That is what he is known for. Causing rivalry among his brothers and sisters. That's his business in governance. But to bring development, empowerment and human capacity building. No . Anyim can never think in that direction. He specializes in causing quarrels, fighting and disunity among stakeholders. It's unfortunate that till today, Anyim has not changed in fighting leadership. He fought Sam Egwu and Martin Elechi . So we are not surprised that he is using the so called founding fathers to fight His Excellency, Engr Dr David Umahi. But is that the kind of son that a father will be proud of to endorse as a leader?. That is too shameful to do. The results oriented leadership of His Excellency speak for itself. Any doubting thomas can come to Ebonyi and point at one thing that Anyim Pius Anyim did for Ebonyi people that warranted endorsement. The evidence based leadership of His Excellency Engr Dr David Umahi, is glaring such that even the blind can feel it. They include numerous flyovers, international airport, ultra modern and digital ecumenical center, a microcosm of Dubai Shopping Mall, numerous concrete pavement roads etc. These are the reasons the Ebonyi State Elders Council frown at the selfish and unilateral endorsement of Anyim over Umahi as there is no basis for such. Therefore, I admonish Mgbada and Igwenyi, to be fathers indeed as no true father will wake up and cause disaffection and rivalry among his children. Rather, they should be bold enough to put their house in order against external intrusion.
