Over 4,000 members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Labour Party (LP) in Ikwo, Ikwo local government area of Ebonyi State yesterday dople’s Democratic Party (PDP).

They were, however, received by Governor Dave Umahi at a rally organised by the people of the area for the governor. Addressing crowd of supporters and other party faithful on the occasion, Umahi commended the new members for joining the PDP while directing the Chairman of Ikwo local government area, Chief John Nnabo, to immediately rehabilitate them and work on their condition which he described as pathetic.

Umahi said: “We will deliver more that 2 million votes in 2019. We are over 5 million people in this Ebonyi State, God has lifted us up and so we have to come out for voter’s registration which would commence in March.

“No excuse, everybody from 1st of March will go back for continued voter’s registration. The nation will see us and they will know that God has lifted us.

“I want the Chairman of Ikwo to immediately baptise all the defectors, let the difference become clear because the way I saw them I am shedding tears. They are hungry and angry, you have to rehabilitate them; you have to baptise them, you have to integrate them.” (New Telegraph)
