NiMET predicts partly cloudy weather, isolated thunderstorm for today

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMET) has made the following predictions about the country’s weather condition for today, Saturday, April 29, 2017:

NORTHERN STATES: Partly cloudy condition is expected to prevail over this region in the morning except over Yelwa and Kebbi where isolated thunderstorms are likely to occur. In the afternoon, sunny conditions are expected except over Bauchi and Gombe where there are prospects of localised thunderstorms.

Day and Night temperature value are expected to be in the range of 30 – 42℃and 20 – 28℃ respectively.

CENTRAL STATES: Partly Cloudy conditions are likely in the morning over the region while there are chances of localised thunderstorms over Makurdi, Lafia, Jalingo, Mambilla, Abuja, Minna, Jos and Bida later in the day.

Day and night temperature values are expected to be in the range of 34 – 38℃ and 21 – 25℃ respectively except Jos at 30/18oC.

SOUTHERN STATES: In the morning hours, isolated thunderstorms are likely over some cities such as Ilorin, Shaki and Oshogbo. Afternoon/evening localised thunderstorms are anticipated over the coastal cities such as PortHarcourt, Calabar, Lagos and Yenagoa as well as over the inland areas like Akure, Ado Ekiti, Benin, Oshogbo, Owerri, Enugu, Awka and Abakaliki. Day and night time temperatures are expected to be in the ranges of 29 – 33℃ and 21 – 25℃respectively.
