A twin bomb blast has rocked Jos, the capital of Plateau State in North-Central Nigeria.

News Express learnt that one of the bombs went out in front of Pharmacy Gate, University of Jos (UNIJOS) while the other was detonated at Bauchi Road Motor Park located not too far from Pharmacy Gate.

The attacks are believed to be the handiwork of Boko Haram insurgents and at least one of them involved a suicide bomber.

The blasts occurred as night approached. Sources in Jos put the casualty figure at between 12 and 19.

There has been apprehension over the fate of UNIJOS students as the scenes of the blasts are usually frequented by them.

A Jos-based philanthropist, Mrs. Goshwe Simi Angeline, posted on her Facebook wall around 8pm: “May God protect all the students of the University of Jos over the bomb that just occurred about 30 minutes ago.”

She also posted: “May God take control over students.”
