A socio-cultural group, Castle Noble International Friends Club, on Friday commended the Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State for taking the initiative to close the borders of the state and in also in providing adequate facilities to fight the COVID-19 pandemic.
The club’s President, Mrs. Ite Donald Ekpo, said at a news conference in Asaba the state capital that the Governor’s initiative would address facility lapses and help save lives in the state.
She noted that the two confirmed cases of the virus in the state have been handled with a first-hand standard by the Governor, adding that “this is an evidence of his great love and concern for the masses.”
Mrs. Ekpo equally lauded the State Government’s efforts at strengthening and promoting peace and unity through community dialogues while urging the Governor to do more in rural areas where they complain of various attacks.
She said that the group will always be in support of the growth of the state and help in the area of health at any time.
Mrs. Ekpo commiserated with the Governor over the death of the second COVID-19 patient in the state and pleaded with all Deltans to obey the sit-at-home order and report any symptoms early enough.
