A former Secretary to the Kaduna State Government, Alhaji Lawal Samaila Yakawada, on Wednesday said the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Malam Nasir El-Rufai, will revive all projects abandoned by incumbent Governor Mukhtar Ramalan Yero.

Yakawada, who served as SSG during the regime of late Governor Patrick Ibrahim Yakowa, spoke in Fadan Kagoma, Yakowa’s home, during the commissioning of a campaign office donated to El-Rufai by some members of the community, said: “I know Yakowa and I worked for him with absolute loyalty and so, I will not deceive the people of Fadan Kagoma and entire Kaduna State. Yakowa meant well before God took him away but I must confess here that Malam El-Rufai will revive all the abandoned projects started by our late boss.

“God is watching all of us and we know what we are talking about. We are insiders and know the consequences of our silence, and so we are stating the fact before the world.

“What we are saying is, support El-Rufai and let us rebuild our battered state. We should not pretend about the reality we are in today in Kaduna State. And so the people of Fadan Kagoma and the whole state should know this fact. We will not support what is inimical to our people. El-Rufai is the way out of the rut as you all identified here and let us actualise Yakowa’s legacy by supporting him. We are grateful, and let the message spread.”

In his remarks, an emotional Malam El-Rufai said: “I am really touched that you believed in me. I am overwhelmed with the crowd that received us; everything is inspiring and I am grateful.”

Presenting the campaign office complex, leader of the group, Mr. Jonathan Luka, said: “We thank God we have gone round Fadan Kagoma and saw the mess we are in, the hospital and road projects abandoned contrary to propaganda. It is the same thing in the state. Please, we believe in you and donated this office to canvass support, and may God answer our prayers.”

The occasion was climaxed with prayers for peace and stability of Kaduna State and the country at large.
