Governor Mukhtar Ramalan Yero of Kaduna State has given full scholarship to 12 primary school pupils after being impressed by their brilliant presentation during the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) campaign tour of Kwoi in Jaba Local Government Area of the state.

The pupils, who were drawn from various public primary schools in Kwoi surprised the Governor when they efficiently presented a narration on 100 reasons why he should be elected in next month’s gubernatorial election. The girls, one after the other, highlighted the achievements of the Yero administration in the last two years in the areas of education, health and insfrastructural development.

Yero commended the headmasters of the girls’ schools, promising to reward them for building up such children and making them the pride of the state. He immediately announced the award of full scholarship up to the university level for the girls.

The Governor said the performance of the pupils has vindicated the PDP in the state, noting: “These children have done the campaign on our behalf because they have told us the achievements recorded in just two years of the present administration.”

Continuing, the Governor said: “Where are the parents of these children? Their presentation is impressive. I am sure many of our adults here cannot confidently make the presentation that these children made and they are from public schools. This is the result of our investments in education and this display has encouraged us to do more, we would increase our investment in education to build a better future for our state.

“As long as I remain in government and even after I leave government, these children would be placed on scholarship up to university level. I want to know their headmasters; they should also be rewarded for producing these children that made us proud.”

Governor Yero identified education as the key to sustainable development, saying: “That is why we have resolved to increase investment in education. We have brought changes to the sector in the last two years and this has started to yield positive results, the performance of these pupils is a testimony.”

From Jaba Local Government, where the Yero campaign train was received by a mammoth crowd, the campaign then moved to Jema’a LG.

The Governor promised the people in the zone of a new university, a military barrack to curb crimes and that the PDP is ready to create new states including Gurara State if elected at national and state levels.
