An Ijaw leader, Chief Edwin Clark has alleged that the chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, (INEC), Professor Attahiru Jega is working for the opposition party, All Progressives Congress (APC) in next month presidential elections.
Hosting some PDP campaign groups, Clark alleged that the INEC chairman was making frantic efforts to ensure that the incumbent President and PDP presidential candidate, Dr Goodluck Jonathan did not win the election.
The Ijaw leader further alleged that Professor Jega was desperate to create 30,000 polling units with phantom voting population, “to ensure that Jonathan doesn’t come back.
“It is disgraceful that Jega whom we thought was an upright man has allowed ethnicity and religion to take control of him.”
Speaking on the sustained criticism of the President Jonathan administration by former president, Olusegun Obasanjo, Chief Clark called on the leadership of the PDP to expel the former president from the party. He also accused Chief Obasanjo of being economical with the truth over the
He also alleged that investigative report on Petroleum Trust Fund, (PTF) indicted the former chairman of the agency and APC presidential candidate, General Muhammadu Buhari of squandering N25billion.
Clark said, “What is wrong with PDP? That man (Obasanjo) should not be allowed to be in the party. You beg him all the time, he has made up his mind.
“He gathered APC women, led by Alaba Lawson and Folashade Tinubu-Ojo at a meeting where he accused President Jonathan of squandering foreign reserves.
“You dissolved his committee (PTF), set up an inquiry and the report indicted him that he could not account for N25billion, yet you are now saying that man wasn’t corrupt!
“Because Obasanjo is corrupt, he doesn’t know what the definition of corruption is. There is big trouble in this country when corrupt people call others corrupt. If you say Jonathan is corrupt, where is the evidence?
“Obasanjo and Buhari are the same and they are now involved in marriage of convenience just to remove Jonathan. “People whose hands are soiled are accusing Jonathan of corruption. Nigeria belongs to all of us and God will decide who will rule Nigeria,” Clark said.
